A mini woodland will be created at the bottom of a Pudsey council estate as part of a city-wide scheme by Leeds City Council to help the city become carbon neutral by 2030.
Council officers have marked out the former playground area at the junction of Acres Hall Avenue and Troydale Lane for planting as part of a scheme to plant to plant 5.8 million trees starting this autumn in response to the climate emergency.
The Roker Recreation Ground in Pudsey is also set for planting.

According to information provided by Cllr Simon Seary (Cons, Pudsey), the aim of the planting is to reduce flooding in the area, enhance wildlife habitat and for Leeds to be carbon neutral by 2030.
