Pudsey Toy Swap aims to help make Christmas easier for families

By Hayley Taylor

Christmas this year looks set to be a tough one for many families around the country, due to increases in bills, rising food costs, energy prices and more.

The MyPudsey team got together to work out what we could do to maybe ease a little bit of pressure for families in the Pudsey area this Christmas and here we are… The Pudsey Toy Swap.

On Saturday, 19 November we will be opening up Pudsey House between 10am and 3pm, to allow families with children of all ages to visit and swap items to ensure little one’s still have a magical Christmas.

Swapping is easy, all you need to do is bring an item that your child no longer plays with or has grown out of – these can be any good condition toys (no soft toys), books, games, puzzles, costumes and dress up.

Bring them along on the day, or arrange collection / drop-off with the team by using the form at the bottom of this page. People can then come down on the day, with their items to swap for a “new to you” item, which can be used as a gift from Santa.

No item to bring? Don’t worry! We aim to help as many people as possible and therefore there will be a donate as you feel policy, however there is no obligation to pay anything at all.

Any proceeds from the day will be split between Pudsey Community Project, Swinnow Community Centre and Tyersal Residents’ Club’s children’s Christmas party.

If you have items you wish to donate but don’t wish to swap, that’s fantastic! All donations are gratefully received, and if you would like us to collect the item or would like to drop it off in advance then use the form here to get in touch.

As the items may be gifts from Santa, we understand you may not wish to bring your little ones with you as it could ruin the surprise. However we also understand that for some that this is not a choice, therefore we will have an opportunity for your child to write a letter to Santa and post it in our postbox whilst you browse the items on offer.
