A restaurant and takeaway on Burley Road has received permission to extend its opening hours until 3.30am.
Mr T’s Leeds, at 90 Burley Road, previously had permission to serve food and drinks until 1am.
The application originally attracted objections from West Yorkshire Police and Environmental Health, however agreements were reached prior to the hearing resulting in additional conditions imposed on the licence.
The objections were withdrawn after the applicant agreed to drop part of the application to play recorded music until 3.30am.
Rashid Moghul, from 363 Architecture, attended on behalf of Mr T’s Leeds and said that Burley Road is busy and has many food outlets along the road.
He said Mr T’s had encouraged additional bin collections and street cleansing in the area and that restaurant bosses had met with residents’ groups and councillors regarding litter and have been working with them to target problematic areas.
The representative also confirmed that the playing of recorded music will generally be cut off by 11pm.
Members of Leeds City Council’s licensing sub committee approved the application, although there was one objection from a member of the public, who feared the application would cause a noise nuisance.
